Michalina Barcikowska

Michalina is a flutist, chamber musician, and lover of early music. She graduated with a master’s degree from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, studying flute under Prof. UMFC dr hab. Urszula Janik-Lipińska, and is currently a student at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, studying traverso flute with Michael Schmidt-Casdorff. She participated in the ERASMUS+ program, which allowed her to study at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in Belgium under Aldo Baerten. She further developed her skills by attending masterclasses with renowned educators such as Peter Lukas-Graf, Carlo Jans, Aldo Baerten, Dejan Gavric, and Alexis Kossenko.

Michalina has showcased her musical talents at international competitions, both as a soloist and chamber musician. Some of her recent achievements include winning the third prize at the Dutch International Flute Competition 2022 in Ittervoort, the third prize at the 2nd Eugeniusz Towarnicki International Flute Competition for Students in Warsaw, as well as the second prize at the IX International Harp Duets Competition in Cieszyn – performing in a harp duo with Urszula Janowska, and the third prize at the 9th Chamber Music Tournament in Bydgoszcz with the woodwind quintet Ventoso Quintet.

Michalina has collaborated with various orchestras including the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, Polish Baltic Philharmonic, NFM Leopoldinum, Mazovian Music Theatre Orchestra, and Płock Symphony Orchestra. She is also a graduate of the 11th edition of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy and has been working with the Sinfonia Masovia orchestra since 2022.
