Marta Macierzyńska is an outstanding pianist and versatile chamber musician, whose interpretations captivate with their depth and sensitivity. Her playing is not merely technical precision; it is, above all, a story woven from the keys, full of nuances and emotions that transport listeners into a world of musical magic. As one critic aptly noted: “Every touch of the keys in Marta Macierzyńska’s performance is like a brushstroke of a master – creating colors, shadows, and light, painting an unparalleled sonic landscape.”
As a soloist, the artist has explored the footsteps of Fryderyk Chopin with remarkable intuition, performing in iconic venues such as his birthplace at the Manor House in Żelazowa Wola and the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Brochów, where the composer was baptized. Her recitals have also graced prestigious international piano festivals, including the “Floralia Muzyczne” International Piano Festival in Powsin and in Nałęczów, as well as on the stages of the Stanisław Moniuszko Warsaw Music Society, the Karol Nicze Society in Pabianice, the Łódź Philharmonic, and the Grand Theatre in Łódź, where she consistently received enthusiastic acclaim from audiences.
A significant aspect of her artistic journey is her rich chamber music collaboration. Marta Macierzyńska has partnered with distinguished instrumentalists with unparalleled finesse. Among them, it is worth mentioning Kevin Kenner, a Chopin Competition laureate, with whom, in the year of Chopin’s bicentennial, she delivered a brilliant performance of F. Chopin’s Rondo in C major, Op. 73, for two pianos. Her stage partners also include world-class trumpeters: Grammy-nominated Richard Stoelzel, as well as Rex Richardson and Jamie Williams, with whom she has created unforgettable musical dialogues.
Marta Macierzyńska has also successfully performed as a soloist with symphony orchestras. Among her most important achievements in this regard is her 2017 concert at the Łódź Philharmonic, where she masterfully interpreted Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fantasy, Op. 80. Equally significant was her appearance as part of the “Polish Camerata to its city” project, during which she delighted the audience with her performance of W.A. Mozart’s Piano Concerto in F major, KV 413, demonstrating her versatility and interpretive depth.
