(b. 2003) is a fourth-year trumpet student in the class of Ad Welleman at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and a graduate of the Zenon Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw, where he studied with Prof. Jan Harasimowicz.
Recognised early for his artistic promise, Kajetan received the Polish Ministry of Culture’s “Young Poland” scholarship (2019) and, from 2016 until the start of his undergraduate studies, was supported by the National Children’s Fund.
He has refined his craft in master-classes with such luminaries as Pacho Flores, Omar Tomasoni, Sergei Nakariakov, Miroslav Petkov, Otto Sauter, Eric Aubier, Marc Geujon, Pierre Dutot, Ole Edvard Antonsen, Max Sommerhalder, Martin Mühlfellner, John Wallace, Helmut Fuchs, Rex Richardson, Fritz Damrow, Hans Alting, Marc David, and Mary Elizabeth Bowden, appearing at festivals that include Italian Brass Week, Maspalomas International Trumpet Festival, WBA Brass Academy, Czech Brass Academy and the CORNO Brass Festival.
A committed orchestral player, Kajetan has been a member of the Lutosławski Youth Orchestra, Young Polish Philharmonic, International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra and the Royal Concertgebouw Youth Orchestra (RCO Young). Since 2023 he has served as Principal Trumpet of the Young Musicians European Orchestra, performing in Italy, Lebanon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with further tours to Italy and Vietnam scheduled. In 2024 he was appointed Principal Trumpet of the Junges Philharmonisches Orchester München.
Kajetan is a prize-winner at several national and international competitions, among them the Varaždin International Woodwind & Brass Competition, Finalis International Wind Competition and the Jupiter Wind Instruments Competition.
He has appeared in leading halls across Europe and beyond, including Het Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Ernst-Reuter-Saal (Berlin), Wartburg Castle, the Opera di Firenze, Ravenna, Siena, Forlì, Arcidosso, Maruševec, the Expomeloneras Auditorium (Gran Canaria), venues in Lebanon, and the Polish Academy of Sciences Hall in Vienna. In Poland he has performed at the Warsaw Philharmonic, Royal Castle Ballroom, Royal Łazienki Park, the Academy of Fine Arts and Polish Radio’s Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio, among many others.
Recent highlights include the world première of Wojciech Chałupka’s Double Concerto for trumpet and saxophone—written for Kajetan and his twin brother, saxophonist Kacper Puczko—at Nowa Miodowa Hall (Warsaw, 22 April 2023), and three performances of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Trumpets with the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (November 2024).
Equally active in historically informed performance, Kajetan collaborates with Baroque ensembles such as Floregium Musicum and Camerata Utricia. He is also a founding member of the Espoir Brass Quintet, one of Amsterdam’s leading young brass ensembles.
