Jingyi Li

Jingyi Li is a versatile French horn player whose artistry bridges classical tradition and contemporary expression. Praised for a warm, focused tone and stylistic sensitivity, she brings musical intelligence and collaborative energy to every ensemble she joins—qualities that have made her a sought-after principal and guest musician across China and Europe.

Her musical journey began at the Affiliated High School of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, where she laid a strong technical foundation before being admitted as the top-ranking applicant to the Orchestral Department of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music. There, under the mentorship of Professor Song Fei, she developed a refined orchestral voice and a deep understanding of symphonic repertoire. Seeking broader artistic horizons, Jingyi continued her studies in France at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Rueil-Malmaison with Stéphane Bridoux, immersing herself in the French school of horn playing and European performance practice. She is currently pursuing advanced studies at the Academy of Music in Łódź under Professor Dariusz Mikulski.

As Principal Horn of the Dongfang Symphony Orchestra at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, Jingyi has led the section with confidence and musical authority. Her operatic experience includes performances of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall, while her orchestral career has taken her to stages with the Nanchang Symphony Orchestra, Huizhou College Symphony Orchestra, and the Changsha Opera House. In Europe, she has performed with the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory Orchestra and remains an active chamber musician in woodwind quintets and wind ensembles.

Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English and French, Jingyi Li embodies an international musical profile—combining technical excellence, stylistic versatility, and a genuine passion for ensemble music-making that resonates with audiences and colleagues alike.
