Jacopo Bertoncello

Born in 1995, Jacopo Bertoncello began his clarinet studies at the age of 11. His academic training commenced at the Conservatory of Vicenza, continuing at the Conservatories of Trento and Riva del Garda under the esteemed guidance of Lorenzo Guzzoni, with whom he completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with top honors. Seminal to his development were encounters with internationally renowned clarinetists such as Charles Neidich, Calogero Palermo, Shirley Brill, Pascal Moragues, and Wenzel Fuchs, among many others.

In the Netherlands, he had the opportunity to delve deeper into contemporary repertoire for both clarinet and bass clarinet. Following his academic studies, he attended the two-year advanced training program at the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna with Alessandro Carbonare, and also participated in summer courses at the prestigious Accademia Chigiana in Siena, also with Carbonare. In addition to his concert activities, he continues his professional development through annual masterclasses in bass clarinet with Davide Lattuada (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam) and in clarinet with Calogero Palermo (Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich).

During his studies, he was a finalist in the national competition for conservatories “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” 2019, organized by MIUR, in the Clarinet category. He has participated in numerous youth festivals, including being selected as a clarinetist for the Collegium Musicum Musik Akademie orchestra at Schloss Pommersfelden (Germany), the International Orchestra Academy Toblach, and the Euroregionale Alpenclassica Festival with the Euthaleia Orchestra.

He has successfully passed selection processes for significant regional and national orchestras, including the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, the Fondazione del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, and the Fondazione Arena di Verona.

Jacopo Bertoncello regularly collaborates with various musical organizations, both local and national, such as: Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta, Orchestra Sinfonica del Veneto, Orchestra Euthaleia, Venice Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Vivaldi di Sondrio, Opera Carlo Felice di Genova, Fondazione Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, and Orchestra Regionale del Friuli Venezia Giulia.
