Jacek Jaskuła

Jacek Jaskuła is a distinguished Polish baritone, long associated with the Wrocław Opera. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Wrocław with honors, he quickly attracted the attention of critics and jurors, winning a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and Art, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Award, as well as top prizes at vocal competitions in Bratislava, Duszniki-Zdrój, and Warsaw.

As a soloist, he has performed with numerous symphony and chamber orchestras in Poland and across Europe, as well as in Canada and Australia. He has appeared at festivals in Duszniki-Zdrój, Regensburg, Xanten, Wiltz, Majorca, and Ibiza. His wide repertoire includes both oratorio works—such as Handel’s Messiah and Liszt’s Christus—and art songs, with acclaimed Chopin recitals presented in Poland and abroad.

At the Wrocław Opera, where he made his debut as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, he has created memorable interpretations in works by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Moniuszko, Tchaikovsky, and many others. His major roles include Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Escamillo (Carmen), Onegin (Eugene Onegin), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Marcello (La Bohème), Janusz (Halka), and Maciej (The Haunted Manor). He has toured extensively with the Wrocław Opera in France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and has appeared on many other opera stages in Poland and Europe, including Warsaw, Łódź, Gdańsk, Bytom, Bydgoszcz, Kraków, Bilbao, and Weimar.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with eminent conductors such as Tadeusz Strugała, Łukasz Borowicz, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Ewa Michnik, Marek Pijarowski, Ruben Silva, and Basem Akiki. The warmth and richness of his voice, combined with his stage charisma and versatility, have earned him recognition from both audiences and critics alike.

For his artistic achievements, Jacek Jaskuła has been awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland and the “Merito de Wratislavia – Distinguished for Wrocław” medal by the Mayor of Wrocław.
